According to the statistics from Thailand’s customs, Thailand’s volume of goods trade was USD231.57 billion from January to July in 2016, down 4.9% year-on-year (the same below). Exports fell by 1.2% to USD121.64 billion, and imports fell by 8.7% to USD109.93 billion. The trade surplus was USD11.70 billion, up 343.1%.

In July, Thailand’s volume of goods trade fell by 4.4% to USD33.39 billion. Exports fell by 4.1% to USD16.97 billion and imports fell by 4.7% to USD16.37 billion. And the trade surplus was USD0.61 billion.

Since January to July, bilateral trade volume between Thailand and China fell by 0.4% to USD36.19 billion. Thailand’s exports to China fell by 8.2% to USD12.21 billion, accounting for 10.0% of Thailand’s overall export. And Thailand’s imports from China grew by 4.2% to USD23.98 billion, accounting for 21.8% of Thailand’s overall imports. Thailand’s trade deficit with China grew by 21.1% to USD11.77 billion.

China was the second largest export market of Thailand and its largest source of imports up to July in 2016.
